What this site is for
This is patient education about oily skin, published by Chongqing West District Hospital, a tertiary general hospital in Jiulongpo District, Chongqing. It is a concern guide rather than a procedure page: it answers why the skin is oily, whether that needs treatment, and which of several paths applies. The procedures themselves, and what they do to the tissue, are explained on the skin hub and on Dr. Jia’s own site, and repeating them here would help nobody.
The argument the site is built on
Sebum production is set largely by genetics and by androgens, and oil is not dirt. Cleansing removes the oil that has reached the surface and does not change how much is made; done harder than the skin tolerates, it removes the lipids that hold water in and provokes more oil rather than less. That is why the ladder on this site begins at the product rather than at a device, why its first two rungs undo things rather than add them, and why every rung states its ceiling.
What it deliberately does not do
It does not name products or brands, quote prices or dosages, or promise a result. It does not present a mattifying product as a treatment, a peel as a cure for oiliness, or an oral course as the logical next step after a product that disappointed. It does not describe how a procedure is performed, because that belongs to the pages that cover it. And it does not treat flaking with redness and itching, or oiliness that arrives in adult life alongside a hormonal signal, as a skin type at any point.
The limits of a website
Nothing here can tell you why your own skin is oily, or whether the oiliness you see is gland output, a rebound from your routine, or a condition underneath. That requires someone to look at the skin, read the history and, where the signals justify it, arrange a test — a consultation that takes minutes in person and cannot be replaced by reading. Use this site to arrive at an assessment with better questions, and treat any answer you receive here as general information rather than as advice about you.
